Lonely At the Top, BENDEL FC 3 Time Winning Champion sings
Gossip 24/7 and KanuHearMe Reports
Two weeks ago, the reporters of Gossip 24/7 and KanuHearMe met up with the Principal Owner of Bendel FC to ask him about the season's performance. With a long face, he replied "Aaargh its very lonely at the top, now I know how 50 Cents feels when he said its lonely when you are rich". He further stated he thought the way to the top would come down to one game but after Team United spanked Eastern United, it was evident that this journey to be top would be an easy sail. As Uche the Principal owner turned back to his scrumptious fingerlicking delicacies on the grill, the businessman in him was quick to emerge as he asked, "Should I make $100 worth of suya and fish?" he had that grin that could be mischievous and happy at the same time.
Winning dey sweeet ooo hollers Oga Manfred
While Bendel Camp is busy celebrating the lonely ride to the top, Eastern United who had some organizational changes are trying to figure out things especially after been humbled by a brilliant team, respected team; however, a team Eastern United thought it would beat to keep the pace and pressure on Bendel FC for the right to hoist the NSL Iweanoge Snr. Regular Season Cup. That hope dashed away after the loss. One could sense something was wrong when the entertaining and at times, cantankerous voice of Eastern United's henchman, Ngo Neshang alias 'Mutumina" was mute. The silence took away from the energy the fans typically get. As they lick their wounds, the Technical Coach Zico alias "Leg Over" promises that someone hair will be barb'ed with 1960 clippers that has rusted away. Time will tell whose hair will get cut.
Would this be the year?
In the history of NSL, no team has gone won all three Challenge Championship Cups Available. Last Year, Eastern United had an undefeated season, won two of the three cups available (NSL Regular Season Cup, and the illustrious NSL Iweanoge Snr. Championship Cup) and would have hoisted the PerSecondNews FA Championship Cup if they had chosen to play the game, they relinquished to Cheverly FC in honor of demise of the team Cheverly's Captain Deji Agarah (continue to rest in peace DJ). Bendel FC may be the first ever to accomplish the goal in NSL's 25 years history. This picture was from 2021 when Bendel FC hoisted the Cup after a drought of close to 7 years but being to the Finals numerous times. It will be entertaining to see what becomes of this season.
