Who would believe that Washington All Stars would be on a cruise control in the Over-45 Veteran League? No one considering in the exhibition game three weeks before commencement of the Veteran League, they received a beat down by United All Stars to a tune of 4-0. With five teams participating in the NSL's expansion league for veterans, these were original ballers of the 90s, and early 2000s, sidelined and almost feeling abandoned due to father-age and its impediments. By no way should you assume that these men of timber and caliber are not skilled, not at all, these are highly skilled players some of whom represented their respected countries in Africa. The Veteran League consists of team hailing from Sierra Leone, Cameroon, and Nigeria having the three other teams which consists of majority Nigerians and folks from other countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya etc.

In fact, the team can lose remainder of two games and still make it to the playoffs. From commencement of the season, the team was considered the weakest but somehow under the coaching of Fatai Atere, yes, the former Super Eagles player and his support cast has won key games just as politicians win battle-ground states. Anchored in the central defense is old but young and agile man, Tunde Highest Priest at age 60 finding ways to keep team potent attackers at bay. How long will this last? I don't know but they can enjoy the fillet mignon served before them.
